The second week of the FIFA World Cup 2022 continued on Monday as Ghana fended off a rally in South Korea for a vital 3-2 victory at the Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan, Qatar.

The Black stars almost had a third goal before the end of the first half thanks to a well-placed corner from Ayew (who else) but South Korean keeper Kim Seung Gyu was just able to knock the ball out of play.
53′: What a save!
Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Ghana’s third goalkeeper who started on Monday due to injuries to the two goalkeepers in front of him, made a superb save to keep South Korea out of the back of the net.

Korea’s turn for a beautiful looping cross courtesy of Lee Kang-in as a substitute. The pass found Cho Gue-sung for a header that knocked past Ati-Zigi and gave South Korea some life.

South Korean head coach and former Portugal international Paulo Bento was furious with the referees after the match, as he felt his team deserved another corner kick before the match became final. Bento received a red card.
