Initial launch of AMD Radeon RX 7900 GPUs will be limited to reference models only

Custom Radeon RX 7900 cards are said to launch 1 to 2 weeks later.

According to the BoardChannels news, the December 13 launch of the Radeon RX 7900 series could initially be limited to “public models.” This, of course, refers to the MBA (Made by AMD) reference design offered by all major board partners.

It is said that size models appear 1 to 2 weeks later, without explanation. At the time of writing, no board partner has even shared the full specs of their cards, not to mention that only two manufacturers have shown their cards so far (ASUS and PowerColor).

However, it is not uncommon for AMD Radeon launches to be limited to reference models. In this way, AMD can ensure that there is no overload on their cards at least for a limited time, simply because they are all the same. On the other hand, custom models can appear at any time, making it more difficult to buy the most desired card.

AMD Radeon RX 7900 Series graphics cards are expected to be available December 13, 2022 on AMD.com and from mid-December 2022 from leading board partners including ASRock, ASUS, Biostar, Gigabyte, MSI, PowerColor, Sapphire, Vastarmor, XFX, and Yeston . December. The AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX has a SEP of $999 USD, while the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT has a SEP of $899 USD.

In September, AMD confirmed that it is working with several board partners for the launch of the Radeon 7900. At least 10 brands will eventually have their RX 7900 designs. According to the same quote, those cards would be available from mid-December.
