Mexico Winter Deals: Flights to Los Cabos for just $224 round trip

Winter is a great time for a trip to Mexico. With much of the US experiencing the coldest temperatures of the year — or at least the coolest for much of the South — escape to guaranteed warmth, beaches, and resorts.

Of course, what makes it even better is when you can find a low airfare for it.

Los Cabos has all of the above, which is true for travelers looking to visit Cabo San Lucas or San Jose del Cabo, both located at the southern tip of Mexico’s Baja California.

Most flights for these deals are from December through March. However, we also found options for an instant escape.

If you’re looking for the right opportunity to book a just-after-New Year’s trip to a hot destination, this deal to Mexico might be just what you’ve been hoping for.

For travelers departing from Texas or other southwestern cities mentioned in this deal, it’s sure to be a fun, short trip.

Here are just some of the routes and prices we found:

  • Austin to San Jose del Cabo for $270 on American.
  • Los Angeles to San Jose del Cabo for $225 on American, Delta, JetBlue or United.
  • Houston to San Jose del Cabo for $272 on Aeromexico.
  • San Diego to San Jose del Cabo for $240 on Alaska.
  • San Francisco to San Jose del Cabo for $298 on Alaska.

There are also some cities from which you can find airfares just above $300 round trip.

For example, we’ve found flights in the $310 to $350 range from Washington, D.C. Yes, it’s more than the $225 you’d pay from Los Angeles, but it’s also a much longer flight – and you’ll often find fares which are much higher than That.

Speaking of Los Angeles, it’s definitely the best value in this deal; not too surprising given its proximity to Los Cabos.

In many cases you also have the choice of your favorite airline. For example, here’s $223-$226 round-trip airfare on JetBlue, Delta, American, and Alaska for one itinerary.

However, if you want a few more days to plan your trip, here’s a way to take advantage of the end of the Thanksgiving holiday season for a $225 round-trip ticket.

If you’re flying aboard Delta Air Lines, you’ll depart Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) mid-morning on Black Friday. It’s about a 2 1/2 hour flight to Mexico.

On the return journey, you can maximize your last day of vacation with a departure at 3:39 PM.

You can also find non-stop options from Austin.

If you’re flying aboard American Airlines for this late-February holiday, your round-trip flights will be 2 1/2 hours on either side.

If you are traveling from Houston, you may be on a Mexican airline and SkyTeam partner Aeromexico. That means you’re almost certainly flying through Mexico City.

Heading south for this early February itinerary, arrive in the Mexican capital mid-morning and depart by lunchtime for the final leg of your journey. It’s a short 85 minute stop in Mexico City on the way back to Texas.

Finally, here’s a short-hop option from San Diego for just after the New Year.

You can maximize both the day you arrive and the day you go home by arriving in Los Cabos at 10:20 AM after the Alaska Airlines flight. On the return journey, you will not depart until after 5:00 PM
