The 33-year snow record in Moscow, the capital of Russia, has been broken.
Heavy snowfalls in Moscow paralyzed the living system. 15 inches of snow were recorded in one day, breaking a 33-year snowfall record.
Earlier in 1989 and 1993 that much snowfall was recorded in mid-December.

The airport was closed due to snowfall on Sunday. While the transportation system in the city also remained disrupted.
More than 100,000 workers and more than 12,000 vehicles were used to clear snow in Moscow.
