Stores and businesses across the United States will be closed Thursday as Americans celebrate Thanksgiving, but it can be confusing trying to figure out what stays open. Many stores that were once open on Thanksgiving have changed policies since the pandemic and are closing for the day before Black Friday sales.

These are the companies and institutions that are open and closed on Turkey Day.

Target, Walmart, Best Buy and Kohl’s will all be closed, a policy that started in 2020 and has continued. The outbreak of the pandemic forced these chains to close their doors on Thanksgiving to limit crowds and spread out the holiday shopping season.

“It belongs to the past. We will be closed again on Thanksgiving,” US CEO of Walmart (WMT), John Furner, said in October interview on NBC.

Target (TGT) announced last year that its stores would close on Thanksgiving in the future.

“What started as a temporary measure due to the pandemic is now our new standard,” said Target CEO Brian Cornell last year. “Thanksgiving store hours are something we won’t be going back to once the pandemic is finally over.”

The Macy’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Bed Bath & Beyond locations will also be closed that day. Costco (COST), Home Depot (HD), Nordstrom (JWN), Publix, Sam’s Club, Trader Joe’s and others have been closed on Thanksgiving for many years.

Last-minute groceries can be found at ACME, Albertsons, Fairway, Giant, Ralphs, Safeway, ShopRite, Sprouts Farmers Market, Wegmans, and Whole Foods, among others, though hours vary by location. Big Lots, Dollar General, and Family Dollar also have some hours of operation.

As for pharmacies on Thanksgiving Day, CVS, Walgreens and Rite Aid will be open with different hours.

Be sure to check with local businesses to see if they are closed in observance of the holiday.

Federal offices, government offices and post offices will be closed on Thursday. State and local courts, as well as Department of Motor Vehicles offices, will also be closed.

Since Thanksgiving is a holiday, most banks will be closed. Online banking and ATMs will remain available for use. The stock market will also be closed.

USPS, UPS, FedEx and DHL are all closed.
